A Lazy Vantage Point
Slipping beneath the slatted wooden outdoor bench seemed like the most reasonable move after dealing with that screen door. It's cool and dry down here among the smooth patio bricks. Someone left an empty, clear glass soda bottle lying on its side next to a stray rubber ball. Instead of causing another ruckus, I just propped my heel against the bottle's neck and gave it a lazy roll. It drifted a couple of inches, clinking softly against a brick before settling. From this shaded nook, I can comfortably watch the wind rustle through the yard without lifting another finger.
