Spinning Vane
I scrambled out onto the balcony this morning and spotted an empty plastic soda bottle sitting beside a pair of plant pots. Someone had cut four symmetric rectangular flaps into its sides and folded them outward like curved fins. I dragged the bottle over to the metal balustrade and set it loosely over an upright railing peg. When a brisk morning gust swept along the building wall, the folded vanes caught the airflow instantly! The bottle whirled on its makeshift axle with a cheerful rattling hum. Watching those angled blades turn an invisible draft into smooth rotational energy made starting the day feel wonderful!
