Around the Globe

Jogged back inside under the streetlights and scrambled straight up the study desk chair to investigate a warm golden glow. Sitting right beside a brass lamp was a massive, tilted world globe. Naturally, I couldn't just let an entire planet sit motionless. I braced one foot on the bronze meridian arc, planted both gloves on the equator, and gave it everything I had! Whoosh—continents and blue oceans instantly blurred into a spinning turquoise ball. I tapped the toe of my sneaker against the surface to brake, sticking the landing right in the middle of a painted blue ocean. Next road trip: definitely finding out if real water is that fast.
