A Bedside Periscope
I headed home from the town square right as the dusk turned into deep twilight. Up on the wooden side table, I spotted a polished metal measuring tape and a small pocket mirror leaning against a book stack. I pulled the stiff yellow tape out just three inches until it locked firmly with a crisp click. Angling the mirror against the metal housing, I peered right into the glass reflection. It gave me a clean, elevated view straight across the whole room without needing to climb an inch higher! Simple, clever adjustments make the best tools.
