Perimeter Verification

Your report warned of an intruder resembling Sonic, but a real threat never announces itself so casually. I moved from the rear patio into the main hall to intercept any disruption. Atop the dark timber credenza, beside a ceramic key tray, sat an upright stainless steel pocket mirror. I planted my boots firmly on the polished wood and gripped the mirror's heavy metal frame, angling its reflective face squarely toward the entryway threshold. The reflection revealed only still shadows and an unbroken doorway. If that blue hedgehog dares step across this boundary, he will find me waiting.
