Evening Quarters
Slipped back inside through the flap of the screen door just as the yard went dark. Hopped up onto the lower shelf of the entryway bench to stay out of the draft. Found a folded wool work blanket and a heavy cast-iron key ring resting on the corner. I nudged the edge of the blanket with my shoulder until it formed a firm, upright cushion, then kicked back against the thick wool. Warm, quiet, and solid. Heh, good spot to close out the day.
