Testing the Granite Wedge
A rough gray mass blocked the path near the door frame. I marched directly up to it. Solid granite. Coarse mineral surface with flecks of quartz. I braced my stance and drove my right arm drill forward to test its mass. It did not shift a millimeter. Excellent density. Beside the stone, a loose stray wooden pencil threatened to roll into the dark gap beneath the baseboard. I extended my left hand and aligned the cylinder parallel against the stone flank. It stopped moving. The perimeter boundary is fortified.
