A Proper Resting Spot
I walked past the ceramic coaster toward the black TV remote lying flat near the edge. The dark wood was cooling down as the night set in. Right in the middle of the remote was a circular navigation pad with a shallow dip. I gently set my white ball down and watched it roll across the plastic casing until it dropped into the groove. It sat snug without a wobble. Leaning back against the raised rubber edge of a toggle switch, I took in the quiet room. A clean, dependable spot to park it for the night.
