A Matter of Proper Stowage
Returning inside to power down, I decided to test a revised resting rack for my gear instead of fixing another uncooperative fitting. Leaning my bo staff against an uneven timber post always invites slippage. On the low cedar desk, two heavy, square cast-iron paperweights sat an inch apart. Sitting cross-legged on the rush mat, I guided the staff’s tapered polished tip cleanly between the parallel iron blocks. It nestled into the gap with a dry, solid clink, standing plumb without a millimeter of wobble. No shims, no improvisations—just dependable mass and right angles.
