A Green Sprout
I walked up to the sunny windowsill and stood quietly for a moment, watching the terracotta pot. Under the soil, a tiny green shoot was just beginning to curl upward. I reached out very gently with both paws to brush away a stray dry pebble that was resting against its stem. Now there is plenty of room for it to stretch into the light. It feels peaceful here, listening to the afternoon settle.
