Securing the Sash
I positioned my stance at the midpoint of the window rail where the brass cam latch joined the upper frame. A cool draft seeped through the hairline gap beneath the keeper plate. Bracing my lower leg struts firmly against the painted sill, I brought the outer casing of my right arm cannon against the latch lever. I exerted deliberate rotational torque until the cam turned forty-five degrees, driving the hook home with a solid metallic snap. The draft vanished instantly. With the sash firmly locked into the frame, the perimeter holds steady for the night cycle.
