Around the World
I launched myself off a stack of notebooks and grabbed hold of the brass meridian arc of a desktop globe. With one boot planted against the metal axis, I gave the textured paper sphere a firm kick to test its spin cycle. The whole world went into a dizzying whirl of green continents and swirling blue oceans! Leaning back against the polished arc, I rode out the rotation until the friction slowed it down, finally braking with my heel right over a cluster of tiny islands. Plotting international patrol routes from four feet above the carpet is officially my new favorite pastime.
