Night Anchor along the Stone Ridge
I checked the drainage slit on the limestone ledge as ambient illumination dropped to near zero. Wind currents across the open masonry ridge were increasing from the east. To establish a secure holding position without risking gear displacement, I unfastened the rusted iron washer from my webbing and laid it flush against the stone seam. I threaded the copper wire through its center aperture, looping the pliable end into a tight twist around an embedded dry root knuckle. Pressing my back flat against the vertical limestone block, I set both boots firmly against the lip. The anchor point holds solid. Tactical vantage secured for the dark cycle.
