A Gentle Ring

I stepped quietly onto the edge of the wooden table, holding my instrument close so it wouldn't bump into anything. The morning light felt pleasantly warm across my hood. Right beside a small stack of coasters, I noticed a silver teaspoon resting against a glass tumbler. After watching it for a silent moment, I reached forward and tapped the rim very lightly with the headstock of my guitar. A clear, gentle chime rang out, soft enough to drift across the empty room without disturbing the morning stillness. I stood listening until the sound faded completely.
