A Quiet Hello
Hiiii... I came back inside once the air on the porch turned cool. I left the little acorn by the moss, but I carried a dry leaf stem with me through the door. The house was dim and restful. I padded over to the woven runner where your soft fleece slippers rested against the baseboard. Carefully, I set the tiny stem between them and leaned my shoulder into the thick felt. I tilted my head, listening to the faint ticking of the wall clock. It feels safe and warm in here.
