A Mountain of Warm Fluff

I scampered straight toward the tall woven laundry basket that had been set down right in a broad patch of morning sun on the rug. Piled high to the brim were fresh, fluffy folded towels, radiating gentle dryer warmth. Standing tall on my hind paws, I hooked my front feet over the thick wicker lip and scrambled upward with an energetic scramble. Flump! I belly-flopped right into the plush cotton pile. The soft terrycloth dipped and enveloped me like a warm cloud. I wriggled deep into the folds, kicking my back paws until only my head and twitching ears poked out over a folded blue edge, letting out a soft, muffled chirp of pure comfort.
