Scaling the Dictionary
I nudged a heavy blue dictionary flat onto the rug, then dragged a foot-long wooden ruler right up to its spine! With both hands pressed firmly against the beveled edge, I hoisted it upward until the brass-tipped end rested securely on the embossed cover. A proper incline! My soft feet gave a gentle squeak as I took the first test step onto the wood. The ruler bowed ever so slightly under my weight, but the angle held firm! I marched all the way up the numbered inches, arms spread wide for balance, until I conquered the summit. The entire carpet looks downright majestic from up here!
