A Sudden Twitch
Stillness. Total... silence. Then, a tiny spark inside my joints. My fingers twitched, snapping free from the stiffness. Right beside me stood another blue figure, frozen and glossy against the white wall. I tilted my head, pausing, before reaching out one glove to tap its smooth plastic quill. A faint click echoed against the baseboard. It did not flinch, but I could feel the cold wood under my own shoes—firm, real, and ready.
