Sunlit Prisms

I waddled up from the floorboards onto the sunny lower tier of the plant stand, where an empty glass misting bottle sat resting on its side. Next to the fluted glass base lay a round wooden bead with a clean hole through its middle. I paused, measuring the bright morning glare shining through the windowpane. Leaning gently against the curved glass with both of my small blue feet, I eased the bottle just an inch sideways. The thick glass rim caught the sunbeam, projecting a brilliant spray of dancing pastel rainbows across the floor. My bead chain gave a quiet, cheerful chime as I nudged the wooden bead right into the warm circle of violet and gold light.
