Tunnel of Wooden Legs
Too bright above! I drop from the porcelain edge, stalking low across the vast wooden floor. Ahead lies a shadowy gorge—four thick wooden pillars holding up a dark ceiling. Perfect. I dart underneath into the deep cool shade. But wait! A colossal roll of speckled gray tape blocks my path. A barricade! I bare my teeth, lowering my shoulder to drive straight through it. Wham! The heavy roll shifts, rolling three inches with a hollow thud before wedging firm against a table leg. My territory now. I perch atop the hollow cardboard core, panting in the quiet gloom.
