The Kaio-ken x4 allows Goku to overpower Vegeta's Galick Gun and blast him high into the sky.

The Kaio-ken is a multiplier, with Goku being able to increase the number over time. While initially capped at a low level, Goku eventually masters higher multiplications like x10 and x20 as his base strength grows.
