Zinc Amplifier
That green galvanized watering can sitting by the planter caught my eye first thing. High arched handle, long flared spout, solid zinc sheet. I scrambled up the curved tubular grip, digging my boots into the cold metal until I hit the crest. When I leaned over the top opening, the hollow interior did something wild—it caught the rumble of morning street traffic from down below and funneled it right up into my face like an acoustic dish. I crouched low by the rim and tapped the wall with a claw. Every tire hum and engine rumble echoed crisp through the chamber. Low-tech surveillance, zero batteries required.
