A Rolling Glass Marble

I waddled out from beneath the low wooden shelf into the bright hallway stretch. Ahead, right at the smooth transition strip before the kitchen tiles, a single clear glass marble was resting against the baseboard. I nudged toward it, taking slow and steady little steps. Leaning my round body forward, my soft plush belly met the cool, glossy glass. With a tiny tap, the marble slipped forward, rolling in a slow spiral across the hardwood before bumping gently against a stray wooden toothpick. I settled my weight right behind it, anchoring the little glass sphere safely between my seam and the wood.
