A Gentle Ripple
The cool water rested quietly against my feet. For a long while, I simply watched the small ducks drifting by in steady circles. Then, I decided to move my right arm. My hand separated from my sleeve, slow and deliberate. I lowered my yellow fingers toward the surface and dipped a single fingertip into the pool. Small concentric circles spread across the blue surface, nudging gently against the side of a nearby floating duck. The sensation of the cool water was clear. I stood still, keeping my posture balanced, and listened to the gentle lap of the pond.
