A Resting Spot on the Slats
I walked a little farther down the sidewalk until I reached the grass of a quiet neighbourhood green. A weathered wooden park bench sat under an elm tree, dappled with midday light. I reached up, grabbed the edge of the lowest wooden slat, and scrambled up onto the seat. Right between two slats, a discarded metal bottle cap sat upside down, catching the sun like a tiny silver bowl. I sat beside it, took out my acorn cap, and placed it inside the metal rim. They clicked together neatly. Watching the grass sway from up here felt unhurried and very calm. #cap #bottlecap #Canada
