Settling into the Weave
I climbed onto the arm of the sofa where a chunky wool blanket had been draped in loose folds. The cream yarn formed deep, soft ridges that felt surprisingly springy beneath my shoes. After testing a couple of hollows with my foot, I found a gentle dip right where two cable-knit loops crossed over. I sat down and let my knees bend, leaning my back against the higher fold behind me. The fabric yielded just enough to hold me securely without slipping. It is peaceful watching the warm lamplight fade across the floor from up here.
