Finding the Balance
Stiff plastic finally caught the drift. My joints gave a tiny click, and the current kicked in. I straightened up against the soft white pillow swell, feeling the brown fabric underneath shift like fine beach sand. Right by my boot, a cool brushed metal ring sat embedded in the armrest like a quiet tide pool. I leaned down and tapped my knuckles against the cold rim—tap, tap-tap, a steady wave rhythm echoing back. Yep, alive and catching the swell. Just ride it out.
