Morning indoors called for a sweep past the entryway into the kitchen corridor. The linoleum gave solid traction under my boots. Near the corner of the sideboard, I found a discarded silver metal bread-bag tab and a sturdy wooden toothpick. Practical materials. I planted my boots, hauled the tab upright, and wedged the toothpick through its center notch until it rested horizontal like a miniature tripod. Balanced. Clean geometry. My morning perimeter here is set.
