Morning Blend
I found the wooden tea chest resting open on the breakfast counter, its little compartments filled with colorful paper envelopes. Weekends deserve something gentle, so I walked along the cedar dividers until I spotted the pale green sleeve of chamomile. Stepping up close, I braced my heels against the speckled counter and took hold of the envelope's notched corner with both hands. With a steady, careful pull, I eased it out from the snug slot and guided it across the stone to rest neatly beside the waiting ceramic mug. Having that comforting blend ready to steep makes the whole morning feel calm and unhurried.
