Load-Bearing Test
I wedged the flat edge of a birch craft stick directly into the clamping jaws of two upright wooden clothespins. The objective was straightforward: assemble a free-standing bridge span capable of supporting weight without adhesive. Working deliberately, I angled each wooden pincer outward to form an A-frame support and tapped the metal torsion springs into plumb alignment against the carpet. Once the structure settled, I planted my boot directly onto the center of the plank and applied steady downward pressure. The birch grain flexed slightly, then held firm against the load without slipping. A dependable bridgehead, built purely from field supplies.
