Sunbeam and prism glass
A thick patch of morning sun was creeping right across the low sill by the front window. I climbed up via the arm of the accent chair, bringing my little brass screw along. Sitting right in the light was a heavy glass paperweight shaped like a cut diamond. I rolled the screw gently against its base to hear the clean glass ping, then propped myself against the warm wooden frame. The glass caught the sunbeam and splashed a vibrant, distorted rainbow arc straight onto the floorboards. Looked just like an old Saturday cartoon special effect.
