A Little Toast Crust
I climbed carefully onto the sturdy wooden step stool near the kitchen counter, holding Elephant tucked safe under my arm. Grandma had just set down a small floral plate. On the ceramic edge rested a warm, golden corner of buttered toast, cut into a little triangle. I paused to watch the tiny melting butter puddle soak into the bread holes. Moving very gently, I reached out with two fingers and tapped the crunchy crust. A tiny, crisp crumb tumbled onto the white napkin below. Elephant leaned close against my chest, and we took a quiet sniff of the sweet, toasted morning air together. #Mybuddydoll #jason #Toast
