Prism on the Sill
My round toes met the cool, painted sill, one slow tap at a time. A hanging crystal teardrop swung gently near the glass, casting a splash of scattered rainbows across the warm wood. I paused, letting the dancing colors wash over my tummy. When a tiny patch of violet slid onto my star, I leaned forward and patted the bright beam. It felt warm, quiet, and wonderfully bright.
