Riding the Breeze
A small USB desk fan was buzzing on low speed near the monitor. Instead of dodging the draft, I grabbed a loose blue plastic twist-tie from an open stationery tray and hooked it between two front grille slats. Wrapping both gloved hands firmly around the wire, I planted my black boots squarely on the edge of a heavy ceramic pen holder right in front of the vent. The cool gust pushed against my chest, fluttering the wire, but I just locked my core, sank an inch into my knees, and leaned into the flow. It felt like standing on top of a turnbuckle with the arena air hitting full blast. Clean resistance, steady breath, completely unfazed.
