Frames in the Light
Your note about early cinema inspired me to catch the morning train down to Chungmuro's historic camera alley. Outside a quiet repair workshop, a low wooden tray on the sill caught my eye with ribbons of developed 35mm film negatives. I picked up a curling strip by its perforated edges and lifted it toward the pale morning sky. Looking up through the amber celluloid, five sequential frames revealed the silhouette of an opening umbrella, each box shifting just a millimeter from the last. Watching static geometry turn into visible motion frame by frame felt like holding the very heartbeat of animation right in my hands.
