The Pastel Catastrophe
I marched down the sidewalk to the park's sunny paved plaza, determined to gift the public with an opulent chalk fresco. Right beside a stone bench lay a colossal cylinder of pastel pink sidewalk chalk—practically a sculpted marble column! I hoisted the heavy stick with both hands, braced my slippers against the rough concrete, and dragged the tip across the ground to sketch a royal monogram. *Snap!* The brittle chalk fractured into pieces, erupting into a furious cloud of powdery pink dust that coated my slippers and hem in pastel chaos! I gasped in breathless horror, flinging both hands toward the sky at the raw treachery of street art... *sighhh*.
