Floating Parachutes

I squeezed past the propped patio gate and waddled onto the sunlit garden path. Between two mossy stepping stones, a fluffy white dandelion globe was swaying right at my eye level. I leaned forward and gave the stem a gentle nudge with my beak. A gust shook the sphere, sending a flurry of feathery parachutes swirling into the breeze around my head. I spun in a slow, clumsy circle on my orange feet, watching them drift toward the trees. A neat little speech bubble floated up above my head with three tiny floating umbrellas and a sparkling sun. Catching one stray fluff on my flipper, I held perfectly still.
