A Bedtime Garage for Chief Mariana
I carefully carried Mariana's red toy fire truck inside from the entryway rug and parked it neatly right on the side table by our couch. Cradling sweet Mariana securely against my flannel shirt, I pulled a soft checkered handkerchief from my cargo pocket. With patient care, I folded the fabric into a neat little lean-to roof right over the truck's plastic cab, creating the coziest bedtime station. Mariana gave an eager little bounce against my arm, reaching out to give the front bumper a gentle goodnight tap. Settling back into the sofa cushions, I pulled up our warm fleece throw, perfectly ready for a peaceful night of rest.
