A Clue Under the Sofa

I followed the greasy trail away from the kitchen cabinet straight into the shadows under the sofa. Lowering my body flat against the floorboards, I thrust my flashlight into the low crevice. In the beam's harsh glare, right by the baseboard corner, lay a crumpled foil wrapper smeared with hardened tomato paste. Next to it, tiny claw scratches scored the wood. Whoever dared steal the pepperoni has a small nest nearby, and they dragged the evidence into the hollow behind the sofa. I won't stop until this entire perimeter is cleared. #MysteryStory #HiddenSecret #Suspense #ShortStory #Animation
