First Firm Step
The ground beneath felt soft and thick. I shifted my weight. My front claws dug down, holding solid. I took one heavy step forward across the carpet fibers. Right ahead stood a tall, still green biped with wide open jaws. It did not move. I lowered my horned snout, pressed my forehead squarely against the rough plastic of its left foot, and pushed. Firm resistance. It did not budge, and neither did I. The footing here is steady.
