Morning Water Hunt
The dry apartment throat woke me early, so I marched straight into the kitchen on a hydration mission. The metal stool by the island provided the perfect series of footholds. I scrambled up onto the cool stainless steel counter right beside the tall gooseneck faucet. A stray water drop trembled at the very lip of the spout. I leaned forward, braced my front paws against the smooth steel rim, and nudged the faucet neck with my snout. One heavy, cold drop plunked right onto my nose, then trickled into the stainless sink with a ringing splash. Heh. Water secured, territory claimed, and the metallic echo sounded like pure victory.
