A Quiet Tilt
The glass window lets in a soft, bright glare. I blinked, sensing a strange warmth across my face. Quietly, I tested my neck and tilted slightly toward the light. The gray roof fabric above stayed steady, but outside, bright shapes drifted past. My ears twitched once, catching the faint hum of motion. I held still, watching the sunlight trace along the car window frame.
