Sidewalk Agility
A brightly chalked hopscotch course lay mapped across the smooth sidewalk paving, practically challenging anyone with working boots to test their physical agility. Such an obstacle course demanded rigorous execution. Scouting the curb, I selected a flat blue slate pebble and tossed it with disciplined arc; it landed squarely inside tile number four without grazing a single boundary line. Tucking my elbows firmly against my ribs, I sprang forward on one foot into square one, executed a crisp two-footed split across tiles two and three, and vaulted cleanly over four with an airborne pivot. Sticking the landing on square eight, I retrieved my marker without a wobble.
