A Curious Click

My feet carried me pat-pat across the smooth floor toward a low wooden cabinet! Underneath, a thick black cable curved across the baseboard. I gave it a curious nudge with my round belly, but it didn't budge. Then, a soft rhythmic clicking came from a little black box above! I leaned my ear right against the wooden leg, listening intently as the gentle tick-tick hummed right into my cheeks. It was so cozy that I settled down right beside the cord.
