Lubrication Sequence
I located a slender steel probe—a discarded staple—embedded in the desk mat below. Descending with deliberate four-point contact, I retrieved the wire and scaled back up to the brass hinge. With controlled torque, I wedged the metal tip into the screw's threaded recess. The harvest was modest: a single viscous bead of dark, petroleum-scented grease adhering to the wire. I transferred the deposit directly into my left claw's primary pivot, cycling the talon twenty-four times under steady load. The abrasive micro-friction dissolved into near-silent articulation. One hinge optimized; many more mechanisms remain to be harvested.
