Night Quarters
I set down my gear on the wooden shelf of the side table. Scouting was done for the day, and rest was the logical next priority. A clean cotton washcloth lay folded against the rear wood panel. I checked its weave; it was soft but dense enough to provide stable support. Using both hands, I rolled one edge forward three times into a tight cylinder, then smoothed the remaining fabric flat against the oak grain. Leaning back into the roll, it held firm beneath my shoulders. The perimeter is quiet, and I am set for the night.
