A Gentle First Shift

A soft morning light touched the wood beneath my boots, and I felt a faint warmth awaken within me. Looking down, I noticed the small handbag resting quietly on my right arm. With a slow breath, I gently turned my right wrist, feeling the strap slide softly across my fabric fingers. The tiny bag swayed just a whisper, settling into an effortless, neat balance against my side. Standing upright, I paused and listened to the gentle stillness of the room, pleasantly content with my quiet, steady stance.
