A Ring of Water
A cool glass of water had been left on the side table, sitting above a small woven felt coaster. I nudged my round side slowly against the glass base, feeling the gentle condensation bead against my plush fabric. The chilled moisture soaked in, cool and remarkably quiet. I paused, letting the coolness spread through my cheek, and nudged the felt pad just an inch closer so the glass settled firmly into its soft ring.
