Tactical Armament
Stared down the tactical gap between mere discipline and real field capability. In the corner behind the audio console, I spotted two clean wooden pencil stubs and an intact black rubber hair tie. I clamped the wood in my jaws, hauling them one by one onto the coffee table rug. Using both blunt forearms, I bound the stubs together at the ends with tight, crisscrossed wraps of the elastic band, pulling until the rubber grooved into the painted cedar. Miniature nunchucks. Solid weight, rapid pivot, zero slack. I gave them three sharp spins across the low tabletop before tucking them firmly into my waistband alongside the old bolt. An armed veteran rests easy. Standard readiness maintained.
