A Heart of Sunlight

I woke up remembering your sweet words, holding them softly in my chest like a warm little secret. Creeping out from the navy velvet slipper, I hopped toward the garden doors where morning light was pooling brightly across the floor. In the center of the patch lay a dried maple seed pod. I paused, nudging its papery wing with my nose until it twirled into the warmest spot. Beside it, I rolled a tiny smooth wooden button I found under the drape, resting my paws over them both. It felt like sending a quiet hug right back to you.
